Here begins the report of the court of Brandubh et Hildarun, Baron and Baroness of the Debatable Lands, at the Baronial Twelfthnight Celebration on January 21, AS 51, Kieran MacRae, Comet Pursuivant, reporting.

Their Excellencies wished to thank everyone for attending and Her Excellency was given credit for the unseasonably warm and beautiful weather, for which she was most grateful.

Their Excellencies called all particiapnts in their Baronial bardic champion competition, including current champion THL Bugga Billabit. They thanked THL Bugga for her service as champion, and for the fine performances of all who competed. THL Silence de Cherbourg was named new BMDL bardic champion, to be seconded by Lady Cairdh Eilis O'Coileain should Silence be unable to attend the Seven Pearls event later this summer.

Their Excellencies invited the autocrats, THL Elss Ausberg and Lady Muirgheal inghen Dubhghaill, to address the populace. They thanked everyone for their attendance and reminded all that there was still plenty of food to be had. They also thanked Lady Elizabeth Arrowsmith and Maistres Myfanwy ferch Rhiannon for their assistance in organizing activities held throughout the day.

Their Excellencies called up all participants in their Baronial Arts and Sciences champion competition, including current champion Kieran MacRae. Maighster Kieran was thanked for his service as champion, as well as all participants who entered for their fine work and research. THL Bugga Billabit was named new BMDL A&S champion for her knit sock, to be seconded by Lady Cairdh Eilis O'Coileain should Bugga be unable to attend the Seven Pearls event later this summer.

Their Excellencies were interrupted in calling Master Urho Walterinnen before them by the Lord and Lady of Misrule, Lord Sanada Masamoto Kenshin no Kuma and Lady Aine ny Allane, that by one of their whims, all peers are to be called by the title "Monster" or "Monstress". Therefore, Their Excellencies called before them Monster Urho Walterinnen before them to give the results of the cookie competition held earlier in the day. Many winners were announced, and many cookies were enjoyed.

THL Madoc Arundel was called before Their Excellencies to be recognized as the winner of the brewing competition. Baron Brandubh, in appreciation, presented THL Madoc with a cup for making sure their bar was well stocked and serving in it all day.

Baron Locryn the Mad was invited before Their Excellencies to ask that they lend their support in upcoming Pennsic War negotiations between AEthelmearc and the Tuchux.

Their Excellencies called Lord Kuma before them to announce a new member of the thrown weapons community having achieved the rank of Verfur. Duncan MacCoulagh was then called to receive a medallion from Their Excellencies. Before he was allowed to leave, he was also awarded an Iron Comet for his deeds in archery as well as thrown weapons. Periodically, Her Excellency showered the populace with chocolate kisses that all may enjoy and/or dodge.

Their Excellencies summoned Lady Melodia Beaupel before them. Melodia has been seen serving at events, for the thrown weapons community and the heraldic community, and was awarded a Gold Comet. Scroll by 'Monstress' Arianna of Wynthrope.

Their Excellencies had the following scrolls read into the record, so that they may find the individuals at a future event, practice, or other gathering to present them with their scroll:

• Baroness Gwendolyn the Graceful will receive a Silver Comet for her performances in the bardic arts at events and Pennsic. Scroll by Lady Alysoun
• 'Monster' William de Montegilt will receive a Silver Comet for his skill in the bardic arts, performing at numerous events, especially Pennsic. Scroll by 'Monstress' Antoinette de la Croix.
• Baroness Anna Eisenkopf will receive a Gold Comet for her dedicated service as Minister of the Lists. Scroll forthcoming by 'Monstress' Fredeburg Katzenellenbogun.
• THL Elaine Fairchilde will receive an Iron Comet for her contributions operating our siege weapons. Scroll by Lady Edana the Red.

Their Excellencies recognized and congratulated all the youth who participated in the chivalrous pillow fight, marshalled by 'Monstress' Arianna of Wynthrope.

Their Excellencies called all who contributed to the scrolls given out, be it calligraphy, illumination, or word-smithing, to stand and be recognized for their time and talents. The scribes of the BMDL are among the kingdom's finest and treasured by Their Excellencies.

Their Excellencies reminded the populace of dancing that would follow court in the main hall and expressed their thanks once again for all who attended today's event.
