Call for Letters – Barony Webminister

Greetings!

My first term as Webminister for the Barony Marche of the Debatable Lands ends as of the April 2 business meeting. I have enjoyed serving these past two years, and am fully committed to serving a second 2-year term, but I am required by courtesy and policy to request letters of intent for the position.

If you have the necessary skills and experience, please consider submitting a letter of intent for the April business meeting. For technical skills, you should have a moderate understanding of HTML, and experience with PHP, WordPress, and cPanel is a huge help. The role mainly involves being able to promptly respond to email requests to publish new information to the site, blog, and Barony calendar. I should also add that I am still in the process of migrating the existing website and e-mail systems to the Aethelmearc kingdom server, so taking on this role now would involve working closely with me and both the outgoing and incoming kingdom webministers to complete this transition.

Please include your qualifications, relevant experience, and vision for the role in your letter of intent. As a reminder, in order to be considered for the position, you must be a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism in good standing and a member of the Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands.

Submit your letter of intent via email to Their Excellencies, Baronesses Violeta and Prima (baronage@debatablelands.org), and to our Seneschal Ceindrich (seneschal@debatablelands.org) by April 1, 2025.

Yours in Service,
Niall mac Raedwulf, Current Webminister of the Barony Marche of the Debatable Lands

Outdoor Archery Practice returns this Sunday!

Spring is in the air, which means it’s time to shake off the dust and let your arrows fly!

I’ll be at our regular outdoor site in Highland Park (the park near the corner of Washington Blvd and Allegheny River Blvd) from 11 am to 2 pm this Sunday, March 23, planning to have the range open by 11:30 am. Loaner gear will be available.

NOTE: The other martial practices (heavy, rapier, thrown weapons) will continue to meet at the winter location (Ace’s Ax Throwing in Homestead) until sometime in April. Watch this feed for updates!

Yours in Service,
Niall mac Raedwulf, Captain of the Archers

First intermediate-level fencing lesson this Sunday, March 16th at 12pm

We’ll get started around 12pm and wrap up around 12:45pm.

Fiber Arts Guild March Meeting
