The report of the First Court of Baronessa Violeta and Praetoria Prima, ninth Baronage of the Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands, held on the 16th day of December Anno Societatis 58 at their Investiture, in the Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands, as recorded by Gwendolyn the Graceful, Brehyres, Meistr-y-gân, Comet Herald.

Their Excellencies greeted Their Majesties and thanked the populace for attending and embracing the theme of the day. They also thanked Baron Brandubh and Baroness Hildarun for their support during their incipiency.

Their Excellencies then gave leave to The Honorable Lady Ceindrech verch Elidir and Lady Dorothea Stark Schütz, event stewards, to address the populace. They issued thanks to all who had worked to make the day a success, including: the event staff and tollners; Mistress Arianna of Wynthrope, Baron Sasson de Sancta Victoria, and Allen Naughty for painting masks as a fundraiser, and Mistress Arianna for several events' worth of mask making; The Honorable Lady Elss of Augsburg, The Honorable Lady Elsa Taliard, Blanche, and Master Alastar MacCrummin for the sideboard; Brehyres Muirgheal inghen Dubhghaill, Baron Jean Philippe Dit Barbe Rousse, Baron Alaric MacConnal, The Honorable Lord Casimir Zelený z Strášná skála, and Hal, for serving at the bar, and all of them as well as Baroness Catherine de Troyes for supplying the bar; Lady Eleanor Walden, Oyama Michiharu, Mistress T'svee'a bas Tseepora Levi, and the Sky Guard for retaining and royalty support; Lærifaðir Jorundr hinn rotinn, Don Robert MacEwin of Thornhill, Master William de Montegilt, Sir Maghnus de Cnoc an Iora, the Debatable Choir, and i Genesii for providing entertainment throughout the day; the musicians: Baron Alaric, The Honorable Lady Rachel Daliceaux, Lady Dorothea, Master Kieran MacRae, Willow, The Honorable Lord Pavel Dudoladov, Dame Elsbeth Ann Roth, and Mistress Arianna of Wynthrope; Brehyres Gwendolyn the Graceful for coordinating and calling the dancing, as well as teaching dance in advance of the event; Cadence and Duke Thomas Byron of Haverford for coordinating games; and the set-up, decoration, and clean-up crew, including but not limited to Mistress Arianna, The Honorable Lord Robert pour Maintenant, Lord Turlough Feolain, Lady Finé Failain; Don Robert, Baron Alaric, The Honorable Lady Rachel, Cadence, Lady Eleanor, Michiharu, Barbara and Baron Salvadore de la Torres; and "many others who I'm sure I've forgotten."

Next, Their Excellencies invited forward His Grace, Duke Thomas Byron of Haverford, who tasked his squire, Master Kieran MacRae, to resolve his feelings of age, by bringing before him Master William de Montegilt, who despite the length of his white beard, was nonetheless able to sing and dance while wearing armor. Pleased by this display, Duke Byron affirmed Master William's intent to take up His Grace's belt and become his squire.

After this, Their Excellencies received a gift of mugs made by the hand of Lord Turlough Fealan, to be given as largesse.

Thereafter, Their Excellencies requested the presence of Baroness Kara Ivarsdottir, presenting her with a Jade Comet (Friend of the Barony) to recognize her many contributions to the Barony, including as a cook, marshall, retainer, and many other services. At this time, Their Excellencies brought before them Bran Riddl, and presented her with a Hematite Comet (Martial) in recognition of her fearlessness in the heavy weapons melee. Scroll by His Royal Majesty, Gareth Kincaid.

Following this, Their Excellencies called before them Etienne Renault, to award him an Amber Comet (Service) for his support to the fencing community and his efforts upon the field. Scroll by The Honorable Lady Nichola Beese.

Their Excellencies further sought Maister Emrys Eustace, hight Broom, to present him with an Amber Comet (Service) in appreciation for his work as Debatable Lands camp Reeve. Scroll by Mistress Arianna of Wynthrope.

Baronessa Violeta then addressed the populace, asking for award submissions. She reminded the people that one of the best ways to get to know their subjects is through reports of their efforts -- particularly in the form of award recommendations. She further invited all to return to the very site of the day's event in a bit more than a month's time, for Baronial 12th Night.

Then, Praetoria Prima invited all scribes, retainers, and guards forward to present them with tokens of thanks for their contributions.

Their Excellencies also thanked all their noble Cousins for being there to greet them, and for their gifts of welcome.

Finally, Their Excellencies invited Baron Brandubh and Baroness Hildarun before them to present them with a gift, which had been passed to them anonymously.

There being no further business, the Court of Their Excellencies was closed.
