Cooking and Socializing at Odriana’s

Starting Friday, 26 April 2019 at 6:00 p.m., there will be cooking and socializing at Odriana’s every fourth Friday of the month. With the weather getting nicer, we’re going to aim for cooking outdoors, but will cook indoors if it’s rainy and/or cold.

This first meeting will be cooking something out of Scappi, talking about food safety in non-traditional kitchen environments, and reviewing basic knife skills. More social than traditional teaching, don’t feel like you need to have some level of cooking skills. I’m still a novice at over the fire cooking, so we’ll all be learning together – or, if you’re a more experienced outdoor cook and want to guide us, that would be deeply appreciated.

If the weather is nice, bring camp chairs. I have a few, but not enough to cover more than a couple of people. There is limited parking at the house, however, there is a parking lot adjacent to my property for people to park and walk over. If you need to drop someone off and go park, that is perfectly fine. To get location information and add it to your personal calendar click here. You can also contact me at jenn.strobel(at)

Looking forward to seeing y’all there!

What do you want to learn or teach?

Greetings from the A&S Minister’s office! We set up a display of sorts at the archery muster yesterday and had some smashing success with newcomers! What you can’t see in this picture is a table full of sign up sheets for each of these items. Those sign up sheets have 2 columns: “I want to learn more!” and “I can teach this!” So, what about you? Is there something that you want to learn more about or something that you can teach? Send me your SCA name and email address at ansminister @ debatablelands .org (remove spaces!) Obviously, this is not an exhaustive list of A&S in the barony, but is just a sampling. If you don’t see it on this list but want to learn it or teach it, send me that too!
