Salve Accolens! Hello Debatable Lands!

Master Alaric and Dame Elsbeth (having acquired them for our 12th Night event we were unable to have) have generously offered to provide free N95 masks to anyone who would like them, locally.

Master Alaric will be happy to arrange delivery (or mail for our further-out neighbors). Email him directly at alaric@pobox.com.

Stay safe out there, friends!

New Year Online Sewing Thursday Jan 20th at 7:30pm

The first online sewing for the new year (already?!) is Thursday Jan 20, starting at 7:30 PM on the kingdom zoom. At the present time, all sewing circle gatherings are virtual, but we look forward to better times for in-person gathering. If you want to sew, knit, braid, weave, iron, or just hang out, we enjoy the company. It is always fun to have company while doing the fiber thing. You will find that this is a good way to show your project or to ask questions. Newcomers are welcome. If want the zoom information or if you have questions, please contact sewing (at) debatablelands (dot) org.

Call for Letters – Baronial Seneschal

Greetings unto the noble populace of the Debatablelands,

My term as Seneschal has come to an end and I am putting forth a call for letters. It is my intent to serve another term as Seneschal if it is your will that I may train my deputies and help prepare the Barony-Marche for a post-plague situation.

If you have an interest in serving as the Seneschal, please submit your letter of intent to Their Excellencies, Baron Brandubh and Baroness Hilderun and myself by February 2, 2022. This is the date of our next Business Meeting.

In Service,
Baroness Muirgheal inghean Dubhghaill, Seneschal of the Barony-Marche of the Debatablelands.

Practice canceled for Sunday 1-9-22

Out of an excess of caution, I am canceling both heavy and fencing practice for this Sunday, 1-9-22. I had a Covid exposure at work and am awaiting testing. Other regulars are quarantining for unrelated exposure as well. Therefore, rather than run any risks, practice is canceled for this week. Hopefully we can resume next week.

On the Cancellation of 12th Night

Salve Accolens! Hello Neighbors!

You may be wondering about our cheery salutation, in light of the recent news that our local 12th Night has been cancelled (read the announcement here: http://debatablelands.org/blog/?p=5471). Though it is sad news, our hearts remain light, as this wise decision protects our people. The plague in our Lands is far more vicious now than it has ever been. We are happy and relieved our people can be safe in this one small way.

We also remain confident that, like previous years, as the air warms, the danger will subside. We have therefore postponed our Baronial Court, Baronial A&S Championship, and Baronial Bardic Championship. Exactly when remains to be seen, as the situation is evolving. But we do have some ideas, and will communicate them when plans come together.

We want to thank our Signet, THL Rachel, and all the scribes and wordsmiths who have worked on the award scrolls for 12th Night Court. They will absolutely find their recipients within the next few months. Thank you to the bards and artisans preparing your offerings for the Championships. We are but shortly delayed in these activities (hey, you have extra time!).

Special thanks to Lady Melodia, the event steward, and her staff, for the work that they have put in, with love.

Thank you, too, to Master Illadore, Duke Christopher, Their Majesties, and THL Muirgheal for holding the people of our Barony and our neighbors, friends and loved ones in good keeping.

In Levitate et Caritate, and Cheers,

Baron Brandubh and Baroness Hilda
