Heritage Fest Update – Fighters and Fencers Wanted!

Hello Debatable Lands!

The Heritage Fest demo at the Allegheny Cemetery in Lawrenceville is a little over a week away and we’re still in need of volunteers! The Fiber Arts Guild has promised some fun displays, the Scribal Guild will be doing a make-and-take calligraphy and illumination activity, and the Debatable Choir will be performing… but I still haven’t heard from the fighters!

I have both heavy and fencing marshals ready to run the lists. Now I need people to fight in them! If you’d like to be a part of this demo please join the Facebook group at the link below. I will be posting updates about parking and setup logistics soon.

Go to https://www.facebook.com/events/450173469165784 and respond on the Facebook event page, or send me an email at ben.nemeth233@gmail.com and I will make sure you know where to go.

Hope to see you there!

Sewing Circle Thursday September 5th 7:30

Sewing circle will resume Thursday September 5th at Hara Kikumatsu’s house. The new location is 1105 Shady Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15232. The time is still 7:30-9:30. Both hand sewing and machine sewing are encouraged and any level of sewing is welcome. If you use a sewing machine, there are two regular machines, one serger, and a single color embroidery machine here. If you wish to arrange to use the embroidery machine, you should contact Master Ishiyama Gen’tarou Yori’ie, the expert on that machine. If you know you will be using a machine or ironing board extensively, you may want to bring your own, so you don’t need to wait to use the equipment here. If you would like help with pattern design you should still reach out to Mistress Ts’vee’a bas Tseepora Levi to make an appointment. If you have questions contact sewing at debatablelands dot org. Please note, there are two cats at the house so medicate as needed.
