A and S — Cancelled — Sunday, Sep 2

This weekend is the Labor Day holiday weekend, and many of us are celebrating, so there will be no A&S this weekend.

There were so many people interested in fiber arts at the demo at the Children’s Museum, that I will be at Washington Blvd *next* Sunday with an inkle loom and fingerloop braiding, just in case we get visitors. Anyone else doing fiber-y goodness is welcome to join me so we can share our enthusiasm with everyone. I will put out an announcement next week as a reminder.

Meanwhile, have a wonderful Labor Day!

Revised SCA Mission Statement

From the Board of Directors:

After careful review and consideration of all feedback, the Board of Directors has decided to update the mission statement to be more inline with current society practices:

The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) is an international non-profit volunteer educational organization.
The SCA is devoted to the research and re-creation of pre-seventeenth century skills, arts, combat, culture, and employing knowledge of history to enrich the lives of participants through events, demonstrations, and other educational presentations and activities.

The Board of Directors wishes to thank everyone who took the time to write in with their comments for the betterment of our society.
Should you have any comments, please send them with the subject line “Revised Mission Statement Aug 2018”.

Practice cancelled

Alas, the overnight rain has left us to much water and wetness to throw safely. So I’m cancelling practice this week. I will let you all know about next week after conferring with the other Marshals.

Fight practice August 26

Hello,
Weather permitting, there will be fight practice at the Washington Blvd site on August 26 from 2 til 6 PM. Loaner armor will be available.
Count Andreas is planning to attend, so if you would like to cross swords with him here is your chance.
I believe the trailers are still in the parking lot, but there should be plenty of parking for us.
I hope to see you there.
