Hello Debatable Lands! Salve Accolens!
This past Sunday, we held our annual Thrown Weapons Championship.
Many thanks to our outgoing Champ and TW Marshal, THL Meinolfr. He created a varied and interesting throw, designed to showcase skill in ax, knife and spear. We witnessed all 6 entrants have a great time, and they included both a new thrower and a youth thrower, and new Debatable Landers from legacy Griffins Keep, and Greater Æthelmearc. It was so much fun!
It was a very close tourney, but the winner your new Thrown Weapons Champ: Lord Rhys Dunlop! Lord Rónán Ó Conaill will be standing as second.
Because many people will still be at Æthelmearc War Practice, I am going to cancel practice this Sunday.
The June Iris Festival is coming up, and I need people to help run the troll table. We need two people at the table the whole time; please send me your availability and how long you’re willing to help out (firstname.lastname@example.org).
No experience is necessary; everything you need to do will be explained when you get there. The troll table at the Iris Festival site has an excellent view of the horse arena, so it’s a great way to contribute to the event and watch the equestrian games at the same time. Finally, please forward this announcement to any other people or lists that might be interested!
Thank you, and looking forward to seeing you there!

Scarlet Guard Challenge:
The Scarlet Guard has issued a challenge to all Shires, Baronies, and Cantons to send their best archer to compete. To enter an individual must have a signed letter of entry issued by their group’s seneschal declaring you as their representative in the competition.
They also ask the competitor to add a small item or token to the prize basket for the winner.
In addition to the prize, the victor will walk away with the annual competition banner to display throughout the year.
Each year the winner’s and group’s name will be added to the banner to create a legacy of great archery and ultimate bragging rights (members of the Scarlet Guard are not allowed to enter).
If you have any questions regarding the challenge please e-mail the archery coordinator Juan Miguel Cezar at email@example.com.
Quick PSA: Social-media hip Æthelmearcians, please remember that many of our friends and fellow Æthelmearcians do not use social media. If you want to reach everyone, shoot your post out via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. To reach your Barony you can email 2 places until we get the forwarder working again; email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org
Even if you just email them a Non-Facebook link to your group or kingdom website regarding events. They really want to know what’s going on and where to be and they have real world reasons for not using social media, like a job, not wanting it, personal safety or something else that makes it better not to use social media platforms.
Baroness Hilderun pointed out that non-facebook users can see your event page but they can only read what is listed in the “About” section of the page. Keep that in mind when directing people to Facebook for more details! Thanks for the tip, Your Excellency!
