Weather permitting, practice for the various martial activities will be held for the scheduled times at the park on Washington Blvd this Sunday,but please be aware that the Pittsburgh Marathon is being held that day. Plan accordingly.

Online Sewing Thursday Apr 21st at 7:30

Once again there will be online sewing Thursday, April 21st at 7:30 in the kingdom zoom. Come sew or maybe iron and fold. All are welcome and we enjoy the company. If you have questions, or want the zoom information, please contact sewing (at) debatablelands (dot) org. Note that next month there is no sewing on third Thursday due to war practice.

In the day’s brewing competition, the winner from Region Two and new regional Champion is Baroness Muirgheal inghen Dubhghaill. Furthermore, Baroness Muirgheal and Drotinn Jǫrundr hinn Rotinn produced the libations favored by Their Majesties.

In addition:

In the Bardic Competition, the winners were Gwendolyn the Graceful and Mistress Constance Waite.

Also, the following Baronial scribes had scrolls go out in court:

  • Golden Alce scroll for Lord Metheus T. Weasel -Illumination by The Honorable Lord Owen Tegg; Calligraphy by The Honorable Lady Rachel Daliceaux; words by Gwendolyn the Graceful, Brehyres

Fencing Practice is On Sunday 4/17

Greetings Debatable Lands,

We return to our outdoor location for fencing practice this Sunday April 17 at the Washington Blvd parklet starting at 1PM.

Limited loaner gear is available. If you need loaner gear contact me at fencingmarshal (AT) debatablelands (DOT) org.

Masks will not be required for fully vaccinated individuals (2 weeks after the final dose of the vaccine). Masks are still required for unvaccinated individuals.

Although the SCA complies with all applicable laws to try to ensure the health and safety of our event participants, we cannot eliminate the risk of exposure to infectious diseases during in-person events.By participating in the in-person events of the SCA, you acknowledge and accept the potential risks. You agree to take any additional steps to protect your own health and safety and those under your control as you believe to be necessary.

Archery is back this Sunday!

Archers of the Debatable Lands!

This Sunday 04/17 archery practice is back at the Washington Boulevard park from 11am to 2pm! Spring has sprung, and now it’s time for us to return to the practice field to hone our skills.

Starting this Sunday we will be resuming weekly practices at the site. For more details see the Baronial calendar at: http://debatablelands.org/calendar.php

All persons attending will need to provide either proof of vaccination, or a negative covid test done within the prior 72 hours. If you are fully vaccinated you are no longer required to wear a mask while outdoors. Anyone who is not fully vaccinated, including children aged 2 to 11, still must wear masks. If you have any questions regarding these policies, you can reach out to the Seneschal, or me.

Practice canceled for 4/10/22

Tomorrow was supposed to be our first outdoor practice for the year. However, based on the weather we had today it is unlikely to be good footing at the park. Therefore, fencing and armored combat practice is canceled. We will try again next week.

Hello Debatable Lands! Salve Accolens!

Thank you to those that attended our large practice in Boyce Park on April 2nd! In particular, thank you to King Gareth and Queen Juliana, who kindly requested the practice, so as to hold Their Court to make up for the one the plague drove in January. Thank you, too, to Prince Byron and Princess Ariella, and King Ioannes of the East.

Fiber Guild Meetings Return!
