Brewers Guild – Monthly Meeting This Wednesday

Greetings everyone!

The Brewers Guild has been very busy of late between brewing for Pennsic and last week’s demo at the Children’s Museum.  We are now looking ahead to fall and winter events.

Join us tomorrow night (Wednesday, September 5) at 7pm at Job’s house in Penn Hills as we work on a wine for Twelfth Night and plan for other upcoming events.  Please bring a beverage (your own or not) that you would like to share and discuss with the group.

If you have any questions, need additional details, or want to be added to our email list, please feel free to contact me at alisonlsteele@gmail.com

Cheers!

Thrown weapons cancelled for this week.

Konichiwa Debatable Lands!! I will not be holding practice tomorrow. Moving this weekend has gotten the better of me physically, and I’m not really in a position at the moment to present a proper range. I will be having practice next week, weather permitting. Sorry for the late notice, but I was holding out hope I could be there this week.

Archery Practice/expect heavy traffic

Please note it is free zoo day! Traffic near the practice site is going to be crazy heavy. I advise if you are coming to practice you come early. Wait times in traffic towards the zoo can be up to 2+ hrs wait. We are on that path.

Archery is on for this Sunday tomorrow! (September 2nd)

Join us at Highland Park 11am-2pm for some great Archery.  Loaner equipment is available, first come first served.

Revised SCA Mission Statement

From the Board of Directors:

After careful review and consideration of all feedback, the Board of Directors has decided to update the mission statement to be more inline with current society practices:

The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) is an international non-profit volunteer educational organization.
The SCA is devoted to the research and re-creation of pre-seventeenth century skills, arts, combat, culture, and employing knowledge of history to enrich the lives of participants through events, demonstrations, and other educational presentations and activities.

The Board of Directors wishes to thank everyone who took the time to write in with their comments for the betterment of our society.
Should you have any comments, please send them with the subject line “Revised Mission Statement Aug 2018”.
