Long ago when the Debatable Lands were newly settled, a group of Viking Age enthusists came together to discuss all things Viking. This Vikingr group lasted many years and even ran events such as the fabled Vetr Things. Sadly, Vikingr faltered as its members passed into memory or out of the Society. However, interest in Viking Age Scandinavia is not gone.
Norse of the next generation, do you want to restart Vikingr?
This group would meet once a month in person on the North side. We would discuss topics related to Viking Age Scandinavia, with a bent towards historical practice and living history.
Víkingr would be a place to:
- Discuss the latest archeology
- Show off your Norse-themed recreations
- Share your latest research rabbit holes
- Plan museum trips
- Bounce around ideas for projects
- Find ways to enhance your Norse persona
- Host a book club for the Sagas
- Watch and discuss videos from museums and Viking Age reenactors around the world
- Swap resources
- Play hnefatafl
- Sail the North Sea*
