Chronicler Call for Letters

Good evening Debatable Lands!

The time has come to end my first term as Chronicler. While if no Gentle steps forward I will continue to serve as the Barony’s Chronicler, I am not actively seeking a second term and assuming someone else would like the experience I will happily discuss with them the responsibilities that accompany the office.

The next issue of the Althing will be the last of this term and I would like to thank everyone that helped me succeed. From officers submitting reports to those members of guilds and the general populace that have submitted content, thank you so much.

The vote for the next Chronicler of the Debatable Lands will be held at the December business meeting. This meeting is on December 4th and all are welcome to attend no matter if you’re an officer or not.

No matter the outcome I will hold the office until December 31st and the changing of the guard of the pen will happen with the turning of the new year.

All letters of intent are due to the Senechal Meesteress Odriana no later than 7 days prior to the meeting on November 27th. She can be reached by email at Senechal@debatablelands.org.

Please contact me at Chronicler@debatablelands.org if you have any questions regarding the position or, as always, to submit content if you’d like to include in my final issue.

As always, thank all of you for everything,

Drottin Skjoldrbjorn
Debatable Chronicler

A Generous Gift

Yesterday at martial practice, Master John the Artificer gave to me four huge bags of fabric and clothing to pass on to our Gold Key. First, many thanks to him for bringing the things, which were part of Achren’s collection, and for donating them to the Barony.

Some of the fabric has gone to the Sewing Guild for scroll cases and other uses. Many thanks to Hara for helping sort the goods, it was a big job!

The rest of the fabric and trim will appear in the Auction for Desirable but Lost Stuff at Twelfth Night, so everyone will be able to bid on their favorites.

And there were some interesting items of garb in the bags, and my question is does Gold Key need any additional pieces? There are some larger size items and some children’s things, so maybe they will be of use. Nichola Beese to the white courtesy phone, please! Maybe we can get together and see if anything is of use for our newer members.

I can be reached at 724.759.3333 by text if anyone has questions, whether it be about the Auction, Gold Key, donations, or whatever.

Business Meeting Minutes

Thank you to everyone that made time to join us at the meeting last night. The Business meeting just after Pennsic is always in the middle of laundry and re-entry into the real world, so we’re not always at our most motivated.

I would like to congratulate Lady Arthes MacLeod on being re-affirmed as our Baronial Exchequer for another two-year term. It’s nice to know that we’re in good hands for another two years. Thank you for volunteering another two years and for your time and efforts over the last two years.

The next Barony Meeting will be on Sunday, 15 September 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Washington Blvd practice site. This is traditionally our newcomer meeting.

The next Business Meeting will be on Wednesday, 2 October 2019 at 8:00 p.m. at Allegheny Unitarian Universalist Church on the North Side.
