May Barony Meeting – NEW DATE

Due to the third Sunday of the month falling on the final day of War Practice, I am moving the Barony Meeting to the following week, 27 May 2018. I realize that this is Memorial Day Weekend but the next available date wouldn’t be until June, which is too late. The meeting will start at 2:00 p.m. and will be at the Summer Fighter Practice site at the small park at the intersection of Washington Blvd and Allegheny River Blvd.

Baronial Baldrics for Pennsic!

Greetings to all Debatable Landers from your Heavy Weapons Unit Commander!

Come join us in making new Baronial baldrics! On Wednesday, May 16 and Wednesday, May 23, from 7:30 – 9:30 there will be special sewing circles at Mistress Ts’vee’a’s house (5167 Rosecrest Dr. Pgh 15201) to turn ordinary gold fabric and comet patches into Baronial Baldrics! Our goal is to provide baldrics for various gentles representing the BMDL in various martial activities at Pennsic. With your help, the BMDL will stand out in glory! Please respond to myself or Mistress Ts’vee’a for questions or further details. Thank you!

Brewers Guild Updates

Greetings Debatable Lands,

Exciting news from your Brewers Guild!  We had an excellent kickoff meeting last week with a whopping EIGHT people in attendance.  Thank you to everyone who showed up!

We had a very productive evening sorting through all of the guild supplies and creating an inventory.  For what, you may ask? We will be providing an equipment lending library for any brewers who need supplies!  Stay tuned for details on what we have and how to borrow it!

We also set goals and planned events for the coming year, including two types of ciders that will be ready in time for the Baronial dinner at Pennsic!  The Brewers Guild is off to a great start, and new members are always welcome, no matter your experience level.

Although we will typically be meeting on the first Wednesday of the month at Alysoun’s home in Pleasant Hills, please note the changes to date and/or location for these upcoming meetings:

  • “June”: Wednesday, May 30 at Tofi’s house (moved one week earlier because of vacation schedule) – brewing Pennsic cider
  • July: Wednesday, July 11 (moved one week later because of Independence Day) at Alysoun’s house – topic TBD
  • “August”: Wednesday, July 25 at Tofi’s house (moved one week earlier because of Pennsic Peace Week) – bottling Pennsic cider
As always, please let me know if you have any questions.
Cheers!
Alysoun

Correction: Heavy Weapons Practice 6 May

There was a mistake in the announcement for Heavy Weapons practice for this Sunday.

The muster in King’s Crossing is TOMORROW. The organizer says, “In your GPS or maps use the following address: 667 Floral Hill Drive, Washington PA. This will be a bit to the northwest of the park. Alternatively, you can use the lat/long to take you to the park: 40.170913,-80.177513”

No local practice May 6

Hello,
Since there is a muster in Washington PA this Sunday, May 6 starting at 11, there will not be a local heavy weapons practice this weekend.

Here is some information about the address of the muster from the organizer.

Hello everyone, it was just pointed out to me that the Facebook location for the park wasn’t working. I changed the location to an address that isn’t exactly at the park but it is close. I guess the park doesn’t have an official address, so Facebook was trying to recommend two very different spots.

In your GPS or maps use the following address: 667 Floral Hill Drive, Washington PA. This will be a bit to the northwest of the park. Alternatively, you can use the lat/long to take you to the park: 40.170913,-80.177513
