Sunday Practices, April 10th

Some are at the ECS, and some at the Catle, so please read carefully!

First off, don’t forget about the Region 2 Archery Muster at the Castle!

Youth Marshal Fredeburg wrote:

Youth Combat will be held at its usual time (2-4 or as demands requires), but for this week we are moving tot he castle in conjunction with the archery muster.

Come shoot and throw in the morning (the muster starts at 10) and fight after lunch.

Greetings heavy fighters,

Baronial heavy weapons practice will be held this Sunday, beginning at 2 PM, at the Environmental Charter School, 829 Milton Street in Regent Square. See you all there!

Marshal of Fence Jorundr wrote:

Debatable Lands fencing practice will continue this week at the Environmental Charter School starting at 2 PM.

Remember that this is our last scheduled indoor practice of the year and next week we will be at the Washington Blvd. site. Unless the weather doesn’t cooperate, in which case we will be using the ECS as backup, and will announce the change on this list.

Officer Meeting RESCHEDULED

Tonight’s Officer’s Meeting is being RESCHEDULED!!!!

This morning we were made aware of a visit to CMU’s campus by Hilary Rodham Clinton that will be today at 6:00 p.m. This pretty much makes parking on or near campus impossible and we were unable to find an acceptable alternate venue with such short notice.

We will be rescheduling this meeting for next Wednesay on CMU’s campus from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The location will be announced within the next couple of days.

If you were submitting a budget request tonight, please send that to the Seneschal, Odriana, via email (seneschal@debatablelands.org). The Officers can then review those requests in advance of next week. This is particularly important if you will be unable to attend the rescheduled meeting. There will be no vote before the meeting to allow additional commentary by the populace.

We apologize for any inconvenience and for the short notice. If you have any questions or need more information, please contact the Seneschal directly.

Change in Scriptorium

Kameshina-shichi-i writes:

Unfortunately, due to a family emergency, THL Rachel has had to postpone teaching “Attavante Made Easy,” which had been scheduled for this Wednesday’s Scriptorium. We are making plans for alternate dates for her to come and teach this class.

Instead, I invite you all to attend “Gothic Blackletter in 30 Minutes,” which I will be teaching. Both beginner and experienced calligraphers are invited to attend this overview on how to analyze and learn new calligraphic hands, using the Gothic Blackletter hand as an exemplar. We will explore how to visually break down letters into their component strokes, practice those to build your “calligraphy toolbox,” then put them back together to create your own work. Materials (handout, graph paper and felt calligraphy pen) will be provided.

Once again, that is this Wednesday, April 16th, starting at 7pm at our house in Glenshaw. Our address can be found in the Dark Pages, or contact me via private email at cadell (at) gmail (dot) com. We look forward to seeing you at
Scriptorium!

For Gulf Wars Travelers: I75 Closure

From Duke Christopher, Kingdom Seneschale:

Noble Æthelmearc—

The following was just passed along to me by the Seneschal of Meridies.  If you are driving to Gulf Wars you should pay attention to this as this closure does effect one of the major routes south from some parts of Æthelmearc.  The report notes that the road could be closed for up to three weeks.

In Service,
Duke Christopher
Seneschal

Master Aylwin writes:

I wanted to inform the populace of your Great and Fair Kingdom about the Road Closure of I75 South in Tennessee. As you may already know this, I just wanted to touch base with you so that those headed south for Gulf Wars can choose another route to war besides I75.

Please post this information in those places you deem appropriate to relieve your citizens from being stuck for hours in slow and standing traffic on the way to Gulf Wars using I75.

Respectfully,
Master Aylwin Watkyns

Heavy Fight practice February 21

The Baronial Knight Marshal writes:

Greetings heavy fighters,

Heavy practice will resume at its normal location, the Pittsburgh Environmental Charter School, on Sunday, February 21, beginning at 2 PM.

I know some people will still be at the Adult Swim Fighter Practice in Milton, PA, so if those who will be in town for the local practice can let me know that they will be there, it will help for planning purposes.
Thanks!
