SUNDAY! FOOD GUILD MEETING!!

This Sunday, November 17th

1 PM at Baron Brandubh and Baroness Hilda’s house
(address in the Dark Pages or text or PM me)

An Exploration of Meatballs and Sauces

————————-

I had a request to show how to make meatballs, so I will bring beef, spices, utensils, and doodads to do so, and will also bring a mundane recipe and a medieval recipe if I can find one.

If you like food, come and join us! Eating is period, so we are doing a medieval thing. Bring ingredients, favorite or new recipes, any other stuff if you want to, and we will see what we can make of all the stuff.

We did this Mystery Cooking day once before and it was VERY yummy!

Pssst. You. Yes, you. I see you there, thinking you’ll sit at home on Sunday. Instead, come to this perfect small fun gathering so you can get to know a few of the folks in our fine Barony.

See you Sunday!

Note: This is an outdoor activity. Please wear shoes made for wet grounds and dress appropriately. It looks like, the weather will be on our side. The place is pet friendly, but dogs have to remain on the leash. This is an equestrian practice, so please make sure you stop at the barn and sign the equestrian waver!

PIE CONTEST! At the Harvest Revel Barony Meeting 11/3

Pie Pie Pie! Oh boy, what flavor?

Our Barony Annual PIE Contest is on for the Harvest Revel on Sunday 11/3! Who can enter? EVERYONE! And if you’ve never encountered the Debatable Lands Harvest Revel Meeting PIE contest before – just about anything counts as pie, if you can name it pie…. Pumpkin roll? Spatially challenged pie. Cookies? Crustless mini-pies. Pork roast? Deconstructed meat pie. A bowl of apples? Procrastinated Pie. BRING IT ALL! Sweet, savory, and everything in between!

The categories this this for the pie contest are (drumroll…): Signature Pie, Showstopper Pie, and Period Pie

How does it work? You make a pie, you decide the category (don’t worry, it’s super informal and just-for-fun), we all feast like Confectionary Royalty! Make sure to bring enough or cut it small, since the judges are YOU! Yup, it’s populace vote (tokens in a cup)! Each meeting attendee gets 3 tokens – one vote per category. Gluten free pies always go over well if you are so inclined. The prize is GLORY and your recipe in the ALTHING (and maybe some trinket)!!

Please be mindful of common allergens, and make a note on the provided card if you use them. Folks in the barony are allergic/sensitive to gluten/wheat, nuts of various types, onions and garlic, among other things. Thanks!

Contest will run from noon to around 3pm.

Ve spent last Sunday diligently counting spoons and bowls and forks on TWO of our four shelves. Ve need just a leetle more effort to finish this all up.

Ve can do this with your help on Sunday, October 13th! The start time will be 2 pm and will run to 6 pm. Ve will be taking pictures and deciding if there are any items that can be donated to the Auction of Desirable Things at 12th Night.

There will be chit-chat and cupcakes, so come to offer your opinions about the gadgets and utensils ve have stashed away.

The location is again at Alaric & Elsbeth’s house (address can be found in the dark pages). If there are any questions, please contact us at alaric@pobox.com or elss.of.augsburg@gmail.com.
